Lazy Sunday afternoon

Good Morning! Not the most apt title for a Tuesday. No sewing to share today, just a few pics. The weather was beautiful on Sunday and my OH and I made the most of it with a lovely walk.

Through fields of wheat.......

........with views like this.....

...right on my doorstep.

Then home to chill out in the garden and find out what's been going on......

Ripening apples.....

Geraniums amongst the herbs.....

Lovely lacecaps.....

....nestled in lobelia

Pinks.......

and purples.....

.....and a puss called Poppy, who is such a Princess, I can't tell you.

See you tomorrow x

Definitely got the bug!

Hi there everyone, I hope Wednesday morning finds you all in good spirits. You'll be pleased to know the chocolate fudge cake was a great success but there's only so much you can eat before you start feeling VERY SICK!

Well, progress has definitely been made in the wonderful world of crochet. Spurred on by Little Harriet's contribution in Handmade Monday this week I decided to attempt her You tube recommendation for crocheted flowers, thanks Harriet for the link. This was my attempt.....

Now you have to imagine the scene in my empty houseold upon completing the last stitch, "I can do flowers!!" I squealed and virtually cartwheeled across the living room floor, much to the bemusement of my two cats.
Of course then I thought I was ready for a bigger challenge. I'm beginning to get to grips with crochet terminology, so I took a deep breath and ventured over to Attic 24 to see what she could tempt me with.  I was spoiled for choice, but as I had only just started my 'flower phase' I thought I'd try one of her wonderful tutorials 'Crochet flowers and leaves'

TA DAH!!!!!

This elicited an even bigger squeal from my lips, as after much furrowing of brow and sticking out of tongue I managed to complete this cute flower. The eagle eyed amongst you will spot there are no leaves, well no, but hey do you know what, I can do flowers, I don't care!

The wool was far too thick for the hook I was using but needs must, it was all I had and my enthusiasm was more than enough to cope with this minor irritation, but I do hear the wool shops a-calling.

What have you been up to today?

Woman on a mission

I got quite excited yesterday when I spotted the front cover of the latest edition of Country Living.

It just triggered something off in me and when I got home I scurried into the garage, I was a woman on a mission! I just had a feeling that a jug I had thought lost in a house move may be loitering with intent somewhere close and although I had previously hunted high and low I had been unable to find it. So I looked on shelves and under shelves and then I opened a cupboard ................. Yes!

I had obviously put it in too safe a place considering it's condition. It was in need of a little TLC.
So after a little cleaning and drying and gluing and setting I was really pleased to be able to welcome it back home.

If memory serves me right I think my mum gave it to me when she saw I'd taken a shine to it, which makes it even more special.

Hope your day is working out as well as mine.
