Handmade Monday - Egg cosies & Hearts

Good morning, and a happy Handmade Monday to you all. I've got some little egg cosies to share with you this week. The design for which came to me in a flash as I was reclining in the sun whilst away this year....ahhhhh... those were the days, anyway back to the point. It really was a "Where's my notebook moment?!" and I know you will all know exactly what I mean.

I shall be really sad when I run out of this delicious Laura Ashley 'Heath Green' fabric, you may remember I got it here and it's proved so popular with my customers. Although I'm sure if I try hard I'll be able to track some more down on the internet.

These will be making an appearance in my Folksy and Etsy shops later in the week. I thought Christmas presents at first but actually these would make a great Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday or even Valentines present, funny how an idea "mushrooms" isn't it?

I've also being playing around with linen hearts, again a gift for the home to be bought at any time of the year.

Free style stitching is a feature of both, I do like the messiness of it and it works particularly well with the raw edges of the linen heart. Watch out for lots more of these!

I'm off to link up with Wendy now at 1st Unique Gifts for delicious creative blogs from very clever ladies at Handmade Monday. Shes certainly a woman who must have "Where's my notebook?" moments all of the time.

Thanks for leaving lovely comments on my previous post, no sign of the offending article yet. I'll keep you posted.

  2. Love the egg cosies, they are so cute.
I also keep a pen and paper by the bed, mostly because when you have an idea rolling around your head you can't sleep so to write it down somehow anchors it enabling sleep - sometimes lol.

  4. Love the egg cosies (housewarming present too!)and love the linen too - and yes, I'm always having notebook moments. I have an A6 sketch pad, pencils and pens permanently in my handbag but when away last week I had to buy a pencil sharpener (so now I have one of those in my bag too now!). I also have ideas springing to life, seemingly from nowhere.

  9. Isn't it funny as a child you would see lots of egg cups with matching saucers in kitchens and you could be guranteed to receive at least a couple for Easter, where have they all gone now? I still have mine from my baby set and have to say that your cosies would sit prefectly on them... great clean and fresh design, Caroline!

  23. I love the things that you have made - perfect presents. And I am sorry to read about your hospital trip - you will have to take up sock knitting - I have found it very helpful in calming the mind and whiling away the hours in A&E.
