Let the Great Granny Blanket Project begin....... & a little tease

Good morning, end of the week already, can you believe it?  Well as the title suggests yesterday I went in search of wool. As I needed some crafty bits I ended up in Hobby Craft which is not the best place to purchase your yarn, choice was a bit limited and it was a little pricey, but I came away with a colour scheme that I think will make up into a nice Winter blanket. It's totally for me of course as I'm usually the one turning the thermostat to max. I figure if I start it now it might be finished in time for the Winter months!

And here's a teasing little snippet of stitchery I've been working on.

It's not finished yet, more of that next week.

I'm off to Tewkesbury this weekend to see a 'battle' (it's a husband thing). I am of course hoping that I will find one or two 'shops for mum' while I'm there so until next week my friends have a great weekend and thanks as always for your support.

  1. Hello Caroline:
We love the slate-blue-grey colours of the wools which you have chosen for your blanket which should team beautifully with the slightly rusty red. Perhaps you could make a start tomorrow whilst the 'battle' is being enacted?!!

    Whatever, have a lovely weekend.

  2. Your yarn choices will make a lovely winter blanket, good luck with it, will look forward to seeing how you get on!! Enjoy your day in Tewkesbury - have only been once but I seem to remember that are quite a few nice tea shops if you get bored! x

  3. Hi Caroline,
Love the colours, knowing how productive you are, I reckon you'll soon have that blanket done!
Hove a lovely time in Tewkesbury, hope you find lots of interesting shops.x

  4. Your colour choices are always superb (not tempted to go for white then...?!) Enjoy the battle! Vx

  5. Uhooi,,
