A great big thank you and Monthly Make - Coffee Cosies

The keen eyed amongst you will notice that this is not a revamped key cupboard post, not quite ready yet.

Do you know I didn't really know what to expect entering the world of the blog, but yesterday I started to realise what it's all about. I put out a simple request for information and received really lovely, genuine advice from people who just wanted to help. Thank you ladies it's nice to know you're out there and I really am grateful for your words of wisdom. Heres a special mention for them all.....

Gill at Gillyflower
Annie at The Felt Fairy
Sophie at Fading Grace
Alison at My Belovedly Life
Alix at Used to Bees
Ros at Ros Made Me

Make sure you pay them a visit soon.  I hope I've suitably embarrassed them all now.

One of those lovely helpers was a lady called Annie.I came across her blog The Felt Fairy during one of my recent trawls through the internet and was delighted to find she hosts a monthly make, so I decided to partcipate. Here is my first attempt......... coffee cosies.

I tend to make a full pot of coffee even if there's only me in the house as I know I'll go back for more and you never know who's going to come a calling so these come in really handy.

Made to fit an 8 cup cafetiere, the cosies are made from linen and the images designed by myself using fabric scraps and attached using a raw edge applique technique.

I love thinking of the sentiments to go on these things and love even more using my free motion machine embroidery to write them

So I'm going to scour the other contributions for this months monthly make now, just after I pour myself another cup of coffee.

Have a good day and thank you so much for stopping by.

Just found your blog and am loving the freemotion embroidery, I just got a new machine and one of those feet and have to say it almost more addictive than coffee.

  3. I know what you mean about blogging. I read a few blogs that referred to 'friends', how odd I thought!
And now: I have several Monday 'friends' one particular Wednesday 'friend' and then I have just received a free parcel in the post from another, and my free parcel is off to Canada!
Long may it continue, (and grow)!

  4. Aaaah! Dear old Blogland! Having personally fondled these lovely cosies I can report that they are just gorgeous. Presumably when you've finished the eight cups by 9am or so Caroline, you can just pop off and make another pot! Vx
